MDT Experts utilizes the services of Dr. Charles Moorefield, Certified Medical Review Officer (MRO). Dr. Moorefield receives special training in properly reviewing confirmed positive test results. In these cases, it is important to determine if an alternate explanation exists, which caused the positive result. It is his responsibility to conduct an interview with the individual in order to obtain information on prescription usage and to determine whether the use of this drug could cause on the job impairment. Some drugs such as opiates or amphetamines may carry a reasonable explanation for use.

Though all regulated drug testing requires medical review officer interpretation of results, MDT Experts provides this service for all non-regulated testing as well in order to prevent liability issues when determining the legitimacy of a positive laboratory result.
